Who we are

Project Mobility Tech

We provide a medical version of virtual reality that helps physiotherapy patients get much more from their therapy. This generates better, faster results as shown by  clinical studies and North American experience. This will improve patient recovery, mobility, and freedom. This is why Project Mobility is so relevant, right now.

The news articles below, published by the Times of Israel, describe the mounting pressure on Israel’s medical system of a growing backlog of patients.  Click on the images below to access articles.

Project Goal

1,000 IREX systems to Israel to support physio rehab treatment of IDF veterans and the people of Israel.

Cost Savings

Rofeh Cholim Association has negotiated lowest ever pricing access to  IREX rehabilitation systems, giving Project Mobility donors lowest cost guarantees and other unique considerations for this charitable initiative. Thousands of veterans, and others, will receive this impactful treatment as a result.  This will benefit Israeli society because this durable equipment will remain in service for years to come.  A description of the equipment to be donated, its original development and hospital applications for civilians, can be seen below.

OUR PARTNERS

IREX Technology Helps

IREX stands for Immersive Rehabilitation Exercise.  It is an award-winning technology.  With GestureTek IREX technology patients see themselves on a screen, placed into a virtual reality activity.  This makes difficult rehabilitative exercises more fun and intuitive. Ordinary therapy creates fatigue through boring repetitive exercises. Such fatigue reduces the effectiveness of ordinary physiotherapy.  IREX is programmable by clinicians for a variety of patient experiences.  Patient experiences are tracked by a video camera to generate data on IREX’s main computer. Medical personel use this information to keep improving results.

Project Mobility includes Hebrew language support instructions for users and professionals, online portals for project monitoring and the publishing of success experiences where permitted by the patients, caregivers, and institutions.

In addition to an IRS charitable receipt, sponsors of a complete system can have their name or other message engraved on the donated equipment,  making the gift a living legacy.

Plan

Saving Time & Money

Gesture controlled interactive rehabilitation exercise (IREX) enables health care providers to treat patients with greater efficiency and lower cost than manual therapy alone.

DIVERSITY

Versatility

Health care providers benefit from having options in treatment.  Therapists can still use other/additional therapies. The use of IREX is not mutually exclusive.

Manage

Expanding Knowledge

Computerized IREX protocols store valuable patient experience data for future reference per patient and for the scientific community. This fosters continuous protocol refinement.

PUTTING EVEN SMALL AMOUNTS TO GOOD USE

Stretching Dollars

With an average IREX system cost of only $6,000 per unit, high value is delivered. This is because each donated system can operate for years and serve thousands of patients.

TESTED SYSTEMS

Originally developed with Haifa University participation for civilian use IREX has been proven a winner in 100s installations around the globe. Now, Project Mobility will bring this added treatment resource to Israel’s health care system to support IDF veterans and others.

%

SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS

Clinical studies of various kinds consistently reveal noteworthy improvement in patient recovery time and quality results across a range of physiotherapy (and eye-hand coordination) outcomes.

IMPRESSIVE PATENT LEGACY

The science behind gesture controlled interactive technology has been rewarded by many patent grants to the makers of IREX over the years.

INVESTMENT LEGACY

Private backers over the years have contributed over USD $20 Million to create this technology platform.

Did You Know?

America has been increasingly adopting  gesture-controlled interactive rehab exercise (IREX).   Project Mobility is making this new standard of care available across Israel to address physio-treatment backlogs.  It places the patient into a  virtual reality setting on screen to perform intuitive, highly-managed movement protocols. Clinical studies consistently find that people performing natural movements that mimic real-world scenarios have HIGHER COMPLIANCE AND BETTER OUTCOMES.

Medical professionals and even popular television shows are increasingly discussing the benefits of virtual reality in medicine.
